Bedside Delivery Program

What is bedside delivery?

Bedside delivery is a free service offered by Methodist Charlton to our patients to enhance the patient’s discharge process. Our pharmacy will deliver any prescription and over-the-counter medications prescribed by your physician directly to the patient’s room before they leave the hospital. This program eliminates the need to stop at a pharmacy on the way home and our pharmacists will provide counseling and address any questions about medications prior to discharge.

Benefits of bedside delivery:

  • Offers convenient medication education and delivery
  • Able to identify medication issues and resolve with your physician before you leave the hospital
  • Provides personal medication review and consultation for patient and family members/caregivers
  • Pharmacy accepts most major insurance plans and offers competitive prices for patient’s without insurance
  • Eliminates waiting at a pharmacy for prescriptions to be filled on your way home

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept my insurance plan?

We accept a majority of prescription insurance plans including commercial insurance plans, Medicare, Tricare, and Medicaid.

Will my medications cost more if I use your pharmacy?

For patients with commercial insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare the cost of your prescriptions will be the same or potentially lower than you previously paid at other retail pharmacies. Patients without insurance are eligible for discounted medication prices that are almost always lower than other retail pharmacies or using GoodRX coupons.

How do I pay for my prescriptions?

Prescriptions can be purchased using cash, check, or credit card. The pharmacy accepts credit card payments by phone from patients or their representatives/family members as requested.

How will I be notified when my prescription(s) is ready?

Once your prescriptions have been received and filled by the pharmacy, a pharmacy technician will deliver your medications to your hospital room. A pharmacist will provide medication counselling over the phone and answer any questions you may have.

Where is the pharmacy located?

Methodist Community Pharmacy is located in the main lobby of Methodist Charlton hospital on the first floor.

Can you add my prescription to my hospital bill?

Unfortunately, prescriptions filled through the pharmacy are not able to be added to your bill.
